CivicRush Additional Charity Terms of Service
Supplemental Terms to the CivicRush Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 16, 2026
Last Revised: September 15, 2026
These Additional CivicRush Charity Terms of Service (“Charity Terms”) govern how nonprofit organizations (“Charity,” “you,” or “your”) register and participate on CivicRush, a Community Event Multiplier platform operated by Cirrus Mio, Inc., a Wyoming corporation headquartered in Reston, Virginia (“CivicRush,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Funds your organization receives through CivicRush are held, verified, and disbursed by Civillos, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) public charity (“Civillos”) who processes financial transactions via its own third-party processor (i.e., Stripe) account. Cirrus Mio never receives, holds, or has the ability to move those funds.
These Charity Terms form part of, and are supplemental to, the CivicRush Terms of Service. By participating as a Charity or otherwise using Charity features within CivicRush, you agree to these Charity Terms. These Charity Terms address what’s specific to Charity accounts including, but not limited to, registration, verification, your public profile, your responsibilities as an event organizer, and how your organization receives funds. These Charity Terms are supplemental to the CivicRush Terms of Service and where the two conflict, these Charity Terms control. If you are registering on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to this agreement.
Geographic scope: These Charity Terms apply only to Charities organized and operating in the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and other US territories. CivicRush services are likewise intended for use in those jurisdictions and otherwise should not be used.
1. Who Can Register
To register as a Charity on CivicRush, your organization must:
- Be a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under IRS Section 501(c)(3)
- Be organized and operating in the United States the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or other US Territory
- Be in good legal standing in your jurisdiction of incorporation
- Have a valid Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Provide accurate information about your organization’s mission and activities
2. Your Public Profile
CivicRush retains information about your organization, including, but not limited to:
- Organization name
- Mission description
- Website URL
- Primary contact name and email
- City/municipality and region
- Cause categories (e.g., environment, education, community development)
- Verification status (Verified / Pending / Rejected) returned by Stripe
This is your public profile. It is visible to volunteers, businesses, and community members on the CivicRush platform. You are responsible for keeping your profile information current and accurate. Misrepresentation of your organization’s status or activities is grounds for immediate removal from the platform.
3. Your Role as an Event Organizer
When you create or run an event on CivicRush, you are an “event organizer” under the CivicRush Terms of Service §1.5, and the following responsibilities apply to your organization specifically:
- Photography and video consent. You confirm that your organization maintains its own process for obtaining consent from participants — including parental or guardian consent for any minors — for photography and video taken at your events, and that this process is followed independently of CivicRush’s platform. If you want to make that process visible to participants, you’re responsible for including it — or a link to it — in your event post or your organization’s volunteer information section. CivicRush does not provide, verify, or store the underlying consent forms on your behalf.
- Verified Service Hours. Volunteer hours are certified automatically as part of your organization’s Verified Service Hours record when two things are true: your organization holds Verified status (is in good standing), and you flagged the event as offering certified hours when you created it. There is no separate manual confirmation step for your organization to complete. If your organization loses Verified status, hours volunteers log from that point forward will display as uncertified until your status is restored; hours already certified before the change keep their certified status.
- Event accuracy and safety. You are responsible for the accuracy of your event listings and for the safety of your own in-person events. Your organization is solely responsible for determining and carrying any liability insurance, permits, waivers, or safety plans it needs for its own events. If you want to share that information with volunteers — for example, a waiver link or safety plan — you’re responsible for including it in your event post or your organization’s volunteer information section; CivicRush does not verify, provide, or insure any of this on your behalf.
4. How You May Use the Platform
You agree to use CivicRush only for legitimate charitable and community purposes. You agree not to:
- Misrepresent your organization’s legal status or charitable mission
- Solicit donations outside of CivicRush’s donation and sponsorship features described below
- Post events or activities that are misleading, discriminatory, or harmful
- Collect personal data from volunteers or community members without appropriate disclosure
- Use CivicRush data for commercial purposes unrelated to your charitable mission
5. Volunteer and Community Member Data
When volunteers interact with your organization through CivicRush they are viewed as participating in their community but are not targets for your future initiatives or communications, unless they request it. Related to this, the following applies:
- We share volunteer participation details tied to your own hosted events — attendance, hours, and check-ins — so you can run your events and review Verified Service Hours.
- For each of your events, we provide a sign-up report that includes each volunteer’s full name, email address, phone number (if provided — collected so you can contact the volunteer about the event), t-shirt size (if collected), and sign-up and check-in/check-out times. Beyond what’s in that report, we do not share additional volunteer contact information with your organization. If you want to contact a volunteer about something not covered by the report, you’re responsible for including your own contact information or a sign-up link in your event post or your organization’s volunteer information section, so that the user may opt to connect with you.
- Users may gain interest in you and your cause and may opt to connect with you via social media or otherwise. You may not use any volunteer data obtained through the platform to build independent marketing or contact lists.
- We do welcome your feedback on the platform itself — if running events or working with volunteers surfaces ideas for product enhancements, you’re encouraged to send that feedback to our product team using the contact information below.
6. How Your Organization Receives Funds
6.1 Civillos makes payments to you. Your organization does not receive funds directly from CivicRush or from sponsors and donors. All funds designated to your organization for an event or otherwise are received, held, and paid out by Civillos. Civillos considers these determinations and other information made available to Civillos, though ultimately Civillos determines the actions to be taken with those funds for the good of the community.
6.2 How a payout reaches you. Payments by Civillos will typically be soon after the event conclusion, though will be made at Civillos discretion. Payments by Civillos will typically be made via a third-party processor (i.e., Stripe), to the bank account your organization maintains within that third-party processor.
6.3 You don’t control volunteer and donor designations. Volunteers and donors make designations as to their charity to receive funds and these designations are considered by Civillos for the good of the community. Your organization cannot attempt to control this designation, as it must remain the users choice, or publicly request or solicit that a user within CivicRush make a specific designation.
6.4 Tax receipts. Civillos provides receipts to donors and sponsors. CivicRush does not provide tax or legal advice, and your organization should consult its own tax advisor about receiving and reporting funds received from Civillos.
6.5 If your organization becomes ineligible. If your 501(c)(3) status lapses or is revoked, or your organization otherwise becomes ineligible to receive funds, Civillos cannot support you and any designations to you would not be considered.
7. Content and Intellectual Property
Charity grants CivicRush a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display information provided by the Charity, including but not limited to: the Charity’s name, logo, and branding. Charity represents it has rights to all submitted material.
8. Suspension and Termination
CivicRush may suspend or terminate Charity access in its sole discretion, including, but not limited to, for violations of these Charity Terms, unlawful conduct, revocation or lapsing of 501(c)3 status, stale accounts or misuse of Platform features.
9. Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability & Indemnity
9.1 Platform provided “as-is.” CivicRush is provided without warranties of any kind.
9.2 Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cirrus Mio, Inc. and Civillos are not liable for lost data, lost profits, service interruptions, system errors; or the actions of event organizers, volunteers, donors, or other users of CivicRush. Your organization is solely responsible for your event’s safety, permits, waivers, and liability insurance.
9.3 Indemnification. Charity agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Cirrus Mio, Inc. and Civillos against claims arising from Charity’s marketing or public statements, Charity’s misuse of data, Charity’s tax or compliance, Charity’s unauthorized activities, and including your organization’s compliance with applicable law, and any claim arising from your organization’s own in-person events, including volunteer injury during a hosted activity.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll notify registered Charities by email and update the “Last Revised” date above. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
