Account Set Up

Create Account
  1. Open CivicRush
  2. Tap Join Now
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Enter a password (6+ characters: 1 uppercase, 1 number, and 1 special character)
  5. Tap Next
  6. Enter your name
  7. Update your username as desired
  8. Review CivicRush’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
  9. Tap Join Now

If you have an existing Facebook or Apple account, you can use these accounts to create a new CivicRush account.

Sign In
  1. Open CivicRush
  2. Tap Sign In
  3. Enter your email address and password
  4. Tap Sign In
Forgot Password
  1. Open CivicRush
  2. Tap Sign In
  3. Tap Forgot Password?
  4. Enter the email linked to your account
  5. Open the email
  6. Copy the temporary code
  7. Return to the app and enter or paste the code
  8. If you lose access to the code screen, tap Forgot Password? and tap Already got a code?
  9. After adding your code, tap Enter
  10. Create a new password and tap Save

    Update Password

    If you’re already logged in and wish to change your password, follow these steps:

    1. Tap your profile icon in the top left
    2. Tap Settings
    3. Scroll down and tap Change Password
    4. Type your new password and confirm it
    5. Tap Save to update your password

    Filter and Sort Posts

    Post Filter and Sort: By Date
    1. Open CivicRush
    2. Tap on the top right
    3. Select a start date and tap Confirm
    4. Select an end date and tap Confirm
    5. Select how to sort posts (ascending or descending)
    6. Tap Apply to save changes
    7. Tap   to close

    Post Filter and Sort: By Category
    1. Open CivicRush
    2. Tap on the top right
    3. Select one or more categories (scroll horizontally)
    4. Select how to sort posts (ascending or descending)
    5. Tap Apply to save changes
    6. Tap to close

    Post Filter and Sort: By Distance

    Distance from your current location.

    1. Open CivicRush
    2. Tap on the top right
    3. Use the slider to adjust the distance in miles from your current location
    4. Select a sorting option (ascending or descending)
    5. Tap Apply to save changes
    6. Tap to close

    Post Filter and Sort: By Accessibility: Remote
    1. Open CivicRush
    2. Tap on the top right
    3. Tap Remote
    4. Tap Apply to save changes
    5. Tap to close

    Post Filter and Sort: By Activity Type: Events
    1. Open CivicRush
    2. Tap on the top right
    3. Under Activity Type, tap Event
    4. Tap Apply to save changes
    5. Tap to close

    Post Filter and Sort: By Activity Type: Volunteer Opportunities
    1. Open CivicRush
    2. Tap on the top right
    3. Under Activity Type, tap Volunteer
    4. Tap Apply to save changes
    5. Tap to close

    Groups

    Group Directory
    1. Open CivicRush
    2. Tap the profile icon on the top left to open the drawer menu
    3. Tap Group Directory
    4. Use the Search bar to enter keywords and find a specific group
    5. Scroll through the directory to explore different groups

    Search for a Group
    1. On the Event main screen, tap Search at the top
    2. Enter a keyword in the search bar and tap search
    3. Groups related to the keyword will be listed under the Groups section

    Join a Public Group
    1. Tap the profile icon on the top left to open the drawer menu
    2. Tap Group Directory
    3. Search for the desired group you want to join
    4. Tap on the group to view its profile
    5. Tap Join

    Request Membership to a Private Group
    1. Tap the profile icon on the top left to open the drawer menu
    2. Tap Group Directory
    3. Search for the desired group you want to join
    4. Tap on the group to view its profile
    5. Tap Join
    6. Tap Continue
    7. Your request status will be “pending” until the group’s owner accepts your request

    Group Management: Create a Public Group
    1. Tap the profile icon on the top left to open the drawer menu
    2. Tap Groups
    3. Tap Create
    4. Switch the toggle off if the group is set to private
    5. Enter the group name
    6. Enter the group description
    7. Add a group image
    8. If your group has a parent group, tap Add a Group
    9. Add Categories
    10. Tap Create Group

    Group Management: Associate to a Parent Group
    1. Tap the profile icon on the top left to open the drawer menu
    2. Tap Groups
    3. Select the group you want to edit and tap on it
    4. Tap on the top right
    5. Under Parent Group, tap Add a Group
    6. Tap Update Group

    Group Management: Create a Private Group
    1. Tap the profile icon on the top left to open the drawer menu
    2. Tap Groups
    3. Tap Create
    4. Switch the toggle on to make it a private group
    5. Enter the group name
    6. Enter the group description
    7. Add a group image
    8. If your group has a parent group, tap Add a Group
    9. Add Categories
    10. Tap Create Group

    Group Management: Approve Membership
    1. Tap the profile icon on the top left to open the drawer menu
    2. Tap Groups
    3. Tap the group you want to manage
    4. Scroll horizontally to the Waitlist tab
    5. Tap to accept or to reject membership requests
    6. To view member profiles, switch to the Members tab

    Group Management: Delete a Group
    1. Tap the profile icon on the top left to open the drawer menu
    2. Tap Groups
    3. Tap next to the group you want to leave
    4. Confirm by tapping Yes

    note: all members will be notified

    Community Needs

    Overview

    Community Needs provide an opportunity to engage with others by sharing opinions, ideas, solutions, and plans. Engage in a great opportunity to participate as individuals, groups, and organizations to provide support through leadership and charitable contributions.

    What are community needs?

    Some Needs raise awareness about social issues and welcome a discussion to work together towards a solution.

    Other needs are tangible items or monetary donations that are required to support work done by others for a cause or to provide relief.

    What can I do to help?
    • “I’ll take care of it” allows leaders to turn a need into an Event or Volunteer Opportunity that will help alleviate the issue.
    • Events encompass various activities such as fundraisers, temporary donation drop-off centers, community meetings, etc.
    • Volunteer Opportunities may include skill-specific aid such as health professional support, hands-on assistance, education, etc.
    • Foundations and groups can review community needs to grant funds to programs of interest.

    Civic Participation

    Civic Participation tracks the number of community needs created and how many are converted into events or volunteer opportunities.

    Create a Need: Public
    1. Tap on the bottom bar
    2. Choose Community Needs/Announce
    3. Select Categories
    4. Input all necessary information
    5. Add a Photo or Video (120MB maximum total file size)
    6. Tap Publish
